自分がHOUSE MUSICを聴きだす頃、Larry Levanは既に他界しており、当時バイブルであったHOUSE LEGEND（後に復刊）やremixやgroove等の音楽史で知識とでしかインプットできないのが残念ですが、ここまで神格化される事は凄い凄まじい事だと凄く思います。その状況における体験こそが、このシーンに不可欠な要素であるが故に。この本に網羅されている音源の殆どは、一般の方からすると信じられない値段で中古レコード屋等で売ってて、そんなレコードに身銭を切って掘っていたあの頃は大莫迦がつくぐらいヴァイナルジャンキーでしたね. プロモ 12inch extendmixに血眼。昨今の再発やeditの流れでオリジナルじゃないと駄目って風潮が自分からは消えましたが、やはりジャケット付きのオリジンレコードは所有欲抜きに欲しい物です。

前途の通り状況の体験者ではないので、ガラージについて書くのは畏れ多いけど、音源は幾つか残っており疑似体験は可能。2000年にSTRUTから出た2枚組MIXCD(VINYLは3枚組)自分は中目黒のONE WAYレコードでカセット（KISS FMの）を買ったのが初めてだった気がします。
ashford&simpsonから始まる好MIXも、WAX POETICSの記事からするとLARRYらしからぬらしい。コノ頃はFrancoisのessencial mixやLOFTのBOX等、今でも色褪せない音源が出まくってた時期でもありやした（金欠だったな、、）
